How to Prepare

  1. Choose a Reputable Skydiving Center: Research and select a certified and reputable skydiving center. Read reviews, check their safety record, and ensure they follow all necessary regulations. I went with skydive dubai. It seemed like the most reputable companies to do with to see one of the top dubai attractions from a different view.
  2. Check Age and Health Requirements: Confirm the age and health requirements set by the skydiving center. Some centers may have age restrictions or health considerations, so ensure you meet the criteria.
  3. Schedule Your Jump: Call the skydiving center in advance to schedule your jump. Consider weekdays, as weekends might be busier. When I arrived to the diving center, we had to wait an extra hour because they were behind. This actually worked in my favour because I spent my time watching people land which eased my fears.
  4. Review the Weather Forecast: Check the weather forecast for the day of your jump. Skydiving is weather-dependent, so be prepared to reschedule if conditions are unfavorable.
  5. Dress Comfortably: Wear comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather. Avoid loose items like scarves that could be problematic during the jump. I showed up in a tank top and they explained to me I needed to wear a long sleeve shirt. I had to purchase 70 usd skydiving shirt from the center.. Please do not make this mistake. I highly recommend a long sleeve compression shirt and some workout tights. Skydiving is a sport so dress sporty.
  6. Wear Appropriate Footwear: Choose athletic shoes with laces, ensuring a secure fit. Sandals, flip-flops, or open-toed shoes are not allowed.
  7. Avoid Heavy Meals: Eat a light and nutritious meal before your jump. Avoid heavy, greasy foods that could cause discomfort during free fall. You would not want to throw up mid air. I made the mistake of jumping with gum in my mouth and it flew right out of my mouth.
  8. Stay Hydrated: Drink water to stay hydrated, but avoid excessive amounts of caffeine. Dehydration can amplify feelings of anxiety.
  9. Get a Good Night’s Sleep: Ensure you get a good night’s sleep before your jump to be well-rested and alert.
  10. Listen to the Briefing: Pay close attention during the pre-jump briefing. Your instructor will provide essential information about the jump, equipment usage, and safety guidelines.
  11. Sign Necessary Waivers: Be prepared to sign any required waivers and paperwork. Read them carefully and ask questions if you have concerns. These may be intimidating just just remember, statistics say you are safer skydiving than being in a car.
  12. Consider Purchasing Photos/Video: Many skydiving centers offer photo and video packages. I highly recommend doing this because how often will you go skydiving? Its a great memory to have and they will not let you bring your own go pro on the dive. It is well worth it!
  13. Bring Necessary Identification: Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  14. Leave Valuables Behind: Leave valuables, including jewelry and unnecessary accessories, behind or secure them with the provided lockers.
  15. Maintain a Positive Mindset: Stay positive and focused on the exciting experience ahead. Trust your instructor and the equipment, and try to enjoy the adventure.

Remember, skydiving is a thrilling and safe activity when done with a reputable center and following proper guidelines. Following these preparation tips can help ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.

Just do it.
